What’s Happenin’?

Hey Friends,

So I know it’s been a while since I’ve last updated here and I’m sorry for that. But I assure you it’s only because I’ve been hard at work writing, booking, and exercising regularly. There’s lots to tell you about, so let me begin. I am proud to announce that I’ll once again be joining up with Adam Cohen to create a music video for the song Hardwired. The video should be completed by the end of August and will hopefully be released sometime soon after.

I’ve also begun booking an East Coast tour for the fall. I’ll be playing this tour as part of a two piece – joined by my good friend and very talented musician Shaul Eshet. If you caught the Document Untold Spring tour ,then you saw Shaul ripping it up behind the organ. Live on the East Coast and want us to play your city? Hit me up and if there’s a venue to host us we will do our best to make it happen.

I am very grateful for the support that Document Untold has been getting over the past month. Music stations such as WGWG and WETS have been spinning the album and a number of folks have added songs on their Spotify playlists. Most notably is music curator Songpickr out of Berlin who included Hardwired on his Spotify playlist of Best Songs of 2015. He has some great music featured on his list and I urge you to check it out HERE. Also, Gobsmag out of Amsterdam recently released a kind write-up on the album which you can check out HERE.

Well I think that just about does it. Shout out to Sean Levelle of the Local 45 Carpenters Union for sending in the photo. Always protect your head Sean. Check back soon for tour dates and video release. Take care folks.

Post Tour Thoughts

Coming back from tour is always a tough adjustment. Since being back I can’t help but reflect on all the new places I saw and the many wonderful people I met that will forever be etched into my mind. For 15 dates down the East Coast I had the privilege of traveling with my good friends in Pile as well as my band of amazing musicians. What a wonderful group of guys they were to travel with and what an honor it was to share the stage with them every night. Sadly, when we reached Savannah, it was time for us to part ways.  For the remaining 32 dates of the tour I would travel around the country alone in my van, where I must have slept in 25 different Walmart parking lots (Walmart allow customers to park in their lots overnight).  As daunting as this journey seemed, I knew I would not come back the same.  In Oklahoma I hung with a gang of friends who offered their house to me which they would be evicted from at the months end.  I was given a hotel room for a night by a kind hearted Texan who thought “I looked tired” and “was in terrible need of a shower”.  I saw a New Mexico sun rise from the back window of my van as I shook off the last night’s hangover.  I saw folks who barely had enough money for the weeks groceries throw their last five in a “touring band” donation basket because they felt a “touring musician needed it more than them”.  As I played to a nearly empty bar in Cleveland I was reminded of humility when a homeless man walked up to the stage and dropped change in my guitar case, saying “I wish I had more to give you.” I saw the best of this wonderful country on my two month journey and it’s been one of the most uplifting experience of my life.  People of America you are good. Thank you.

Daytrotter Session

Today the fine folks at Daytrotter released the session I did with them a few weeks back while passing through on tour. Not only did they release great recordings of the session but made this stunningly accurate watercolor painting of me. Check it out HERE !

Also, I will be playing with Yael Kraus tonight at Pianos. Music starts at 8:30. I am very excited for this show since I just returned home and am looking forward to seeing NYC friends that I haven’t seen for too much time. 21021995-37388889

Update From a Rest Stop in Illinois

Hey folks,
For the past week of tour drives have been long but I finally have some time today to update the site. First off, the tour so far has been amazing. Yesterday in Rock Island, Illinois I was fortunate enough to have played a Daytrotter session. Thank you so much Ian and Sean for the opportunity to play at your studio, it was amazing. Be sure to check up on their website, for the release of the recordings.

Vinyls of “Document Untold” are in and you can order them on bandcamp . CD’s and digital downloads are also available. Punknews.org recently wrote a great review of the album which you can check out here .

Future plans are in the works for a European tour in the fall. If any one has any helpful contacts over there please contact me. More news on this to follow.

I would also like to congratulate my friends in Pile for their amazing new record they just released called “You’re Better than This”. Make sure to check it out. Also, my buddy Yazan just released new material as well which is also amazing. I am proud to have gotten the opportunity to travel with all those guys for the first leg of tour. They are greatly missed.
I have added a few shows in NYC for when I return so New York people be sure to check them out. Well I think that just about does it. 6 more shows then back home. More news to come!
